Book Design / Illustration
Penguin Cover Design Award
As part of the Penguin Cover Design Award, I illustrated this middle-grade cover for a book by Robin Stevens: ‘Murder Most Unladylike’.
Using a combination of pencil, scanned elements and digital collage, this cover came to life, depicting the two main characters – Daisy Wells and Hazel Wong.
This was the first chapter book cover I had ever designed, and one of my favourites.
A-Z Picture Book
This project was a self-written alphabet book that follows the story of the birthday of a Mouse called Millie. Each spread is dedicated to a different letter, corresponding with one of her animal friends and the item they brought with them to her surprise birthday party.
Illustrated using a combination of watercolour, coloured pencil and digital layers, this book is bright, fun and playful, and demonstrates my way of drawing anthropomorphic characters.
Picture books: 6-8
This was a project briefed by the ‘Make Art That Sells’ picture book course by Lilla Rogers.
The book is a mix of fiction, non-fiction and editorial all in one, and provided a great opportunity for me to push play to the limit.
A lot of digital collage was used to create this spread, and was great fun to experiment with.
